Jack Travis, FAIA, NOMAC is an American interior designer, architect, author, and educator whose work explores Black history and culture through design, alongside themes of sustainability and alternative education. He founded his design studio in 1985, has worked with clients such as Spike Lee, Wesley Snipes, and Giorgio Armani, and edited African American Architects: In Current Practice (1992), the first book profiling Black architects in the U.S. He also founded the Studio for Afri-Culturalism in Architecture and Design, is currently working on an exhibition for the Museum of Black Civilization in Dakar, and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and member of the Council of Elders of the National Organization of Minority Architects.
